The Better Access Mental Health Care initiative provides Medicare rebates for psychological treatment. Under this scheme individuals can access up to 10 individual treatment sessions per year.
To receive the Medicare rebate you will need a valid Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) provided by your General Practitioner. The MHCP initially provides individuals with 6 sessions. A GP review is then required to determine whether the a further 4 sessions are required. The Medicare rebate is a total of $88.25 per session.
Since COVID-19, an additional 10 Medicare subsidised therapy sessions were provided to those people who have used their 10 initial sessions. To access these sessions, a review with your GP is required at the completion of the 10 sessions.
PSYCHOLOGICAL SUPPORT SERVICES
Psychological Support Services (PSS) provides short term psychological therapy for people that live in the Central and Eastern Sydney region experiencing mild to moderate mental health concerns, financial hardship and who may not be able to access support through Medicare subsidised psychological services.
Suicide Prevention Services (SPS) are also offered to provide support to people in the community who are at increased risk of suicide or self-harm.
Referral forms completed by GP's are required for all PSS programs.
NATIONAL DISABILITY INSURANCE SCHEME
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is designed to support people with disability to increase their independence and fully participate in community and working life. Treatment can be accessed using your NDIS funding.

FEES AND CANCELLATION POLICY
The cost of a session includes a gap fee above the Medicare rebate. The session is usually around 50 minutes and is payable at the end of the session by debit or credit card. For more information please make contact.
Should you need to cancel or postpone your appointment, please provide 48 hours notice. Cancellation between 48 - 24 hours of notice will be charged 25% of the cost for the session whereas, cancellation between 24 - 0 hours notice will be charged the 50% of the session.
Individual sessions can be attended either face-to-face or via telehealth
